Identification with Jesus in the mystery of his Passion, death and resurrection is at the heart of our charism. From our origins, Mother Mary Joseph knew that the well being of the congregation was intimately bound up with the intensity of the sisters’ prayer life. This is still true today.
The gift of prayer enables us to be transformed into the likeness of Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit. Prayer becomes the source of all our strength and inspiration, as well motivation for all our actions. Ultimately, we live in God, through and because of the depth of our prayer.
The fruit of the spirit of prayer is continual conversion of heart which grounds the Passionist vocation.
Fidelity to prayer brings us closer and closer to God, not in anything extraordinary, but in the very ordinary moments and activities of our lives.
