The Passionist Sisters of Our Lady of Dolors Province belong to an international community called the Congregation of the Sisters of the Cross and Passion. We are a branch of the larger Passionist family founded by St. Paul of the Cross in the eighteenth century.
In humble beginnings, among the poor factory workers in the industrial midlands of England, our foundress, Elizabeth Prout, planted the seed of our Congregation which has grown and flourished and can now be found in many regions around the globe. Today, you will find us in: Argentina, Bosnia, Botswana, Chile, England, Ireland, Jamaica, Peru, Papua New Guinea, Scotland, Wales and the United States.
Members of our North American Province live in Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Tennessee, and Jamaica, West Indies.
